Srinagar: Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Thursday chaired a meeting regarding the enactment of an Act for fixation of fee structure of private schools in Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting was attended by Secretary GAD, Khursheed Ahmad Shah; Secretary Law, Abdul Majeed Bhat; Secretary School Education, Farooq Ahmad Shah; Chairperson BOSE, Veena Pandita; Director School Education (Kashmir), Dr G.N Itoo and other concerned officials of the education department.

On the occasion, the Minister said it’s high time to enact an act so that students don’t get exploited by private schools.

“Through this act we can fix the fee structure of private schools for the larger welfare of student community and the education system,” Bukhari said.

The threadbare discussions were held to review various aspects of the Act and the suggestions were also put forward by the officials.

Bukhari directed the Department of School Education to give the inputs for the formation of Act.

Later, Bukhari chaired a separate meeting to review the status of providing accommodation to Kashmiri Migrant teachers appointed under PM’s package.

The meeting was attended by Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants) ML Raina; Director Estates, Tassaduq Jeelani; Director School Education (Kashmir), GN Itoo and other concerned officials.

It was informed that the space have been identified for the accommodation of these teachers. Bukhari directed the officials to complete the process at an earliest.
