Hizb Div Comdr among 2 militants killef in Sopore gunfight:Police

Srinagar/Sep,4: Rwo militants of Hizb ul Mujahideen including Divisional Commander of the outfit for North Kashmir were killed in an encounter with police and security forces in Sopore.
Police in a statement issued here on Monday said acting on a specific information, Sopore police along with 22 RR and 179 Bn, 177 Bn, 92Bn CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Check-e-Brath area of Sopore. During searches, hiding militants fired upon joint search party, ensuing an encounter.
Two militants, according to the statement, were killed in the encounter who were later identified as Pervaiz Ahmad Wani resident of Galoora Handwara, Divisional Commander of Hizb ul Mujahideen and Naeem Ahmad Najar son of Ghulam Hassan Najar resident of Shelpora Brad, Sopore.
Two AK rifles, three AK magazines, 90 AK rounds, One INSAS rifle, one INSAS Magazine, 13 INSAS rounds and other ammunition was recovered from the encounter site.
These militants, the police statement said, were involved in many anti national and anti social activities. Pervaiz Ahmad was involved in the serial blast on mobile towers in 2015.
Pervaiz Ahmad Wani was involved in a series of civilian/ Police killings and various attacks on Police/ other government forces.
He,according to police statement, was involved in killing of two police personnel in Handwara market in 2013. He was involved in attack on Police Post Langate in 2016, attack on Army in Handwara and attack on SBI Sopore.
Pervaiz along with Nayeem was involved in the killing of Eid-ul-Amin resident of Maqboolabad Behrampora. Parvaiz was also involved in the killing of Fayaz Ahmad resident of Saidpora Tragpora Rafiabad and killing of Suhail Ahmad Dar resident of Kachloo Khaipora Kralgund.
Besides he was instrumental in recruiting and indoctrinating many youths in HM in North Kashmir.
