Srinagar: Wishing all ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), their families and people of the state a joyful Eid-ul-Azha, Director General of Police (DGP) Dr S P Vaid and Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir have expressed hope that the festival will bring joy and happiness among the people.
The DGP and IGP have already asked police personnel, going to celebrate Eid with their family members in their native places, to be cautious. A police Assistant Sub Inspector was shot dead by militants in Anantnag while another officer of the same rank was shot at and wounded by gunmen in Shopian in south Kashmir.
Dr Vaid in his message has wished the people of the State, families of martyrs, all personnel of JKP and their families a joyful Eid.
He has expressed hope that the festival will bring joy and happiness among the people of the State including cops and the families of police martyrs.
“Let us pray on this auspicious occasion that peace and prosperity return and flourish in our State and let we work together for a crime and violence free State”, the DGP has further said his message.
IGP Kashmir Munir Ahmad Khan has also greeted all ranks of JKP, their families and the people of the State, on the auspicious occasion of Eid. He has expressed his hope that the festival would bring joy and happiness among people of the state, Police personnel, their families and the families of police martyrs.
He further said that the festival reminds us to share our joys with destitute and deserving. The occasion teaches us to rededicate ourselves for the service of people, reaffirm our commitment towards brotherhood and selfless service to humanity.
IGP has also prayed for peace and prosperity of the State.
