Jammu: A BSF man was killed after he was hit by a sniper fire from across the border on the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. ‘’BSF ASI Kamaljit Singh at around 1745 hours sustained bullet injuries due to enemy fire initiated from across the Line of Control while he was deployed at a forward post in Krishna Ghati Sector,’’ official spokesman here said. He said that the injured ASI was provided immediate first aid and evacuated from the post but unfortunately succumbed to the injuries.
Kamaljit Singh, 50, had joined BSF in 1988 and hailed from Village Malkana, PO- Raman, Teh- Talwadi Sato, Distt Bhatinda, Punjab. In this hour of grief, Border Security Force stands in solidarity with the bereaved family of the martyr and remains committed to their dignity and well being, the spokesperson said. Earlier on August 25 a BSF jawan got injured in sniper fire in Arnia belt of Jammu.
Meanwhile on July 21, an Army jawan got martyred while another got injured by sniper shot from across the border on the Line of Control in Keri Battal area of Khour in Jammu.
