Jammu: At least four people were killed and 21 others including 11 soldiers got injured in separate road accidents across Jammu region.
“A taxi (JK06-3384) this morning met with an accident when it was on way from Phagsoo towards Thathri in Doda district,” police here said.
They said two persons died on the spot and five others got injured.
They said two injured have been shifted to District hospital whereas three others were under treatment at SDH Thathri.
“Bodies of two dead have been handed over to their families,” they said.
The deceased were identified as driver Mohammad Ashraf, son of Mohammad Sharif and Ghulam Ali, son of Samda Malik, both residents of Phagsoo.
Meanwhile, the injured were Shabir Ahmed,32, Touseef Ahmed, Javed Ahmed, Sadam Hussain and Mohammad Farooq.
In another incident an Army vehicle plunged into a gorge when the driver lost control over it near Nau Deviyan in Katra town of Reasi district.
“Around 11 jawans suffered injuries in the mishap out of which three are critically wounded,” police said.
They said that they have been rushed to the Katra hospital from where they will be shifted to Military Hospital.
In the third incident an Army truck hit the taxi in Banihal area of Ramban district on Jammu-Srinagar national highway.
Two persons identified as driver Manjit Singh and a Head Constable of J&K Police died on the spot when a taxi they were travelling in collided head on with an Army vehicle, they said.
Police said that five persons also suffered injuries in the mishap and they have been rushed to Srinagar Hospital.
