Zulfkar visits Tulail, reviews stock, supply position of food grains

Gurez: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Information, Chowdhary  Zulfikar Ali Thursday directed the concerned to speed up the stocking of food grains and other essential commodities in border area of Gurez sub division before the onset of winter and ensure that storage of ration will cater the requirements till June next year.

The Minister, who was on a two-day tour to Gurez sub division Thursday, gave these directions while inspecting various food stores in Tulail tehsil. During his tour, the Minister visited various far off villages including Burnai, Kashpart, Zedgae, Purana-Tulial , Manzgund, Jurniyal and Shiekhpora and reviewed development scenario in these areas.

The Minister also inspected food store at Jurniyal and Purana,Tulail and took stock of the availability of food grains. The Minister was informed that sufficient quantity of rice and other essential commodities is available in the sub-division. “4075 quintal rice, 1070 quintal atta, 532 quintal sugar and 14213 liter kerosene oil is available in various food stores of the subdivision while as 2033 quintal rice,  570 quintal atta, 110 quintal sugar and 2450 liter kerosene oil have been distributed among the consumers  during the month of July and August,” concerned officers informed the Minister. It was also revealed that there are total 32235 souls who receive their ration through 5814 ration tickets under various categories of PHH, NPHH, BPL and AAY.

At Jurniyal, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali interacted with the public and enquired about ration supply and other amenities.

At Dawar, the Minister also met various public deputations who projected their demands concerning the people in the area. After giving a patient hearing, the Minister assured the delegation that their genuine demands would be looked into on priority basis.

On his way back to Bandipora, the Minister also inspected various food stores and took stock of availability of ration and other essential commodities.
