Srinagar: Police on Thursday arrested a senior doctor for allegedly molesting a patient at his private clinic in Jammu.
As per police sources, a female patient lodged a complaint with police station Bakshi Nagar stating a doctor posted in Neurology department of Super Specialty Hospital (SSH) Jammu molested her at his private clinic.
“We had received a written complaint of a girl. She stated that Wednesday evening the doctor molested her, when she visited him for routine checkup,” said SHO Bakshi Nagar Ashwani Kumar.
“The girl also alleged that doctor planed all this and deliberately delayed her turn in clinic to make her to sit in clinic till late evening,” the police officer said.
“The girl anyhow ran and got away and contacted her parents. Later, they lodged a complaint at police station Bakshi Nagar Thursday morning,” he said. “Acting upon the complaint, we verified visitors’ register at the accused doctor’s clinic, and found that girl’s token number was 21 but the doctor examined her at the last.”
A case under Section 354 RPC has been registered against the doctor at police station Bakshi Nagar and investigation has been started.
“The doctor is under arrest. We are verifying the CCTV footage of clinic and nearby establishment to cross check all evidences,” he said.
