Workshop on GST held at Poonch

Poonch: To make all the DDOs, traders & other stakeholders aware about the provisions of Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act, and TDS under GST & Income Tax, a  workshop-cum-interactive session was organized here Wednesday.

The program was held under the chairmanship of DC, Tariq Ahmed Zargar, who interacted with all participants and threw light upon significance of shifting to this new tax regime (GST).

The aim of holding such type of workshop was to know & to clarify the apprehensions, doubts and genuine problems that are anticipated by the stake holders in regard to implementation of GST.

Resource person, Maheep Gupta through power point presentation explained in detail all the components of new tax GST and told various procedures of TDS under GST& Income Tax and related  guidelines to be followed by DDOs and traders after shifting to new tax regime.

Pertinently, district administration in collaboration with State Commercial Taxes department is conducting regular orientation and awareness programs on GST Act to acquaint all stakeholders with its provisions & set rules.

Some basic issues and queries related to the implementation of the act were also raised by the stake holders. It was assured by the concerned officers that supportive system has been evolved to assist the stakeholders for accessing registration under new law. It was also informed that online registration involves a very simple and conceivable process.

The workshop was also attended by ADC, Gurvinderjeet Singh, other senior officers of district administration and DDOs of all departments in the district, dealing assistant /supporting staff and traders.
