Srinagar: Chairman of hardline Hurriyat Conference (HC) Syed Ali Shah Geelani Wednesday appealed to people to donate towards Bait-ul-Mall of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH), also headed by him, for poor and needy people.
In his appeal he said TeH has always pursued a “noble mission of helping unprivileged” and expressed the hope that people will generously donate to assist and help us to carry this pious mission.
Mr Geelani also asked people to donate the skins of sacrificial animals on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
He said that since last seven decades people of the Jammu and Kashmir ares pursuing for right to self-determination and rendered unparalleled sacrifices. Thousands embraced martyrdom and hundreds disappeared.
He said TeH was on the forefront of the struggle besides active on other social fronts, thus subjected to extreme brutalities from authorities.
Mr Geelani alleged that authorities are very much chasing its leaders and activists and they are caged, harassed and intimidated.
Besides two sons and son in law of Mr Geelani, a number of other separatists leaders besides some businessmen are under the detention of National Investigation Agency (NIA) in terror funding case. Besides spokesmen of the both the factions of the HC are under NIA net.
