Kishtwar: Department of Agriculture organized ‘New India Movement’ (Sankalp Se Sidhi ) event under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Ghulam Nabi Balwan in the conference hall of DC office complex here Wednesday.
The department of Agriculture along with all field functionaries, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Scientists from KVK Bhaderwah besides the representatives of other allied sectors and a large number of farmers participated in the event.
The department besides highlighting their developmental activities and the measures taken up for the welfare of farmers also discussed the issues related to farmer community and assured their redressal through latest techniques and know-how of modern agricultural methods.
A renowned Scientist Dr. G.V. Rama Raju from Andhra Pardesh gave detailed information regarding saffron cultivation and other field crops.
District Development Commissioner made the house to take pledge on Sankalp Se Sidhi towards doubling the farmers’ income by 2022.
