Three kids among seven killed after car plunges into river in Rajouri

Srinagar: Seven persons, including three kids, were killed in a road mishap in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. The deceased included PA to DC Rajouri Mehmood Ahmad as well. Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, Animal Husbandry Minister Ab Gani Kohli and Minister for Information and Consumer Affairs Zulfkar Ali have condoled deaths

An official said that a vehicle with seven persons on board plunged into a river in Narian area of the district.

All the persons on board were killed in the accident, he said.

The deceased were identified as Mehmood Ahmad, son of Jaffar Ali; Abdul Aziz, son of Jaffar Ali; Atter Begum, daughter of Jaffar Ali; Jameela, wife of Mehmood Ahmad and her three kids: Rehan, Husnain and Alisha.

Condoling the deaths, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti described the deaths in the accident as unfortunate. She said the growing number of road accidents in the hilly areas of the State call for review of the status of passenger safety, vehicle and road conditions and other parametres. Mehbooba Mufti has conveyed her sympathies to the families of those killed in the accident.

Conveying his sympathies to the bereaved family members, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh asked the district administration to ensure swift rescue operations and provide all possible help to the affected.
Minister for Food, Civil Supplies Consumer Affairs and Information, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has also expressed grief over loss of lives at Narian Rajouri road mishap. Zulfkar Ali condoled the demise of Mehmood Ahmad, son of Jaffer Ali; PA to DDC Rajouri, in the accident.

In his condolence message, Minister for Animal Husbandry Ab Gani Kohli expressed condolence with bereaved family members. He also prayed for peace to the departed soul.
