Budgam: Krishi Vigan Kendra (KVK) Monday organized a public program ‘Sankalap Se Siddi’ at Behisht Zahra Park Budgam under the guidelines of Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare.
MLA Budgam Aga Syed Rohullah was the chief guest on the occasion while as DDC Budgam was the guest of honour.
The other dignities present on the occasion were Director Extension SKUAST, Director Research SKUAST and other concerned officers.
The aim of the program was to aware the farmers about how they could double their income by 2022 while involving and implementing latest technologies, guidelines available to them through experienced agriculturalists and scientists. The day-long program was attended by a large gathering of progressive farmers coming from far flung areas of the district.
Director Extension SKUAST said the latest technology and guidelines would help farmers to enhance their agriculture produce and increase their income gradually.
Speaking on the occasion, Aga Syed Rohulla said our main focus should be safe guarding our agriculture land. He urged upon the farmers to stand up for the cause in preserving their main sources of income for future generation.
Appreciating the officers of KVK (SKUAST), the MLA emphasized upon the need of organizing such programs in other parts of Budgam to aware farmers about latest practices in the field.
On the occasion, the DDC said our main activity is agriculture and allied farming which needs to be adopted as a source of sustained income. He said we have to change our mind set as there is tremendous scope in generating alternative income under agriculture farming. A large number of progressive farmers also attended the program.
