Srinagar/Aug,27: A spontaneous shutdown is being observed today in Pulwama to mourn the killing of three militants in a gunfight with forces following an attack on District Police Lines yesterday.
All shops and other business establishments are closed while public transport is off the roads in the town.
Three militants of Jaish-e-Muhammad outfit who had stormed the police lines were killed after an 18-hour-long gunfight.
Eight forces’ personnel, including four CRPF men and as many policemen, were killed in the attack.
Clashes had erupted in Pulwama town yesterday as gunfight raged inside the District Police Lines.
