Srinagar: Former head of Northern Command of Indian army Lieutenant General (R) DS Hooda has refuted the reports attributed to him on Pakistan’s support in Kashmir.
Several websites and newspapers had run a story with the headline, “Pakistan enjoys widespread support in Kashmir: Ex-Army commander”.
Lt Gen Hooda said that he has been misquoted on his remark on Pakistan. “I never said Pakistan has widespread support in Kashmir,” he said.
The former army commander said that he was also misquoted on his remarks on solution of Kashmir problem.
“The report is false and mischievous. I have not made this statement at all but in fact stated that Pakistan support (to terrorism) is one of the reasons for the conflict. I also did not say that the conflict “can only be solved through bilateral talks”,” he said.
