Hiranagar(Jmu): The Animal Husbandry Department Saturday provided 80 Micro Poultry Units to SC/BPL farmers at Sangwali Village, Ghagwal under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana here at a function. MLA Hiranagar, Kuldeep Raj presided over the function which was also attended by District Development Commissioner, Sheetal Nanda, SDM Ghagwal Narayan Dutt Sharma, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer R.P Bharti , Tehsildar Ghagwal Kanchan Bala and local community members.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Hiranagar called upon farmers to take technical and financial help from government departments under various schemes. He enlisted various projects being undertaken by the govt for farmers and asked them to avail the benefits of these schemes.
The DDC informed that District administration along with Animal Husbandry department will provide every support to beneficiaries and urged them to work hard as Poultry farming is financially viable and can improve their income.
Earlier, an awareness program was also organized for farmers in which Subject Matter Experts Dr Vikas, Dr Harpreet and Dr Rajneesh guided them regarding key aspects of poultry farming.
