Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today convened a meeting to review the rehabilitation plan of dislocated Urban Poor families.

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Executive Engineers of I&FC (Irrigation & Flood Control), R&B, Hydraulic, Collector LAWDA, officers from SDA, Deputy Director Planning, Tehsildhar (South) and other concerned officers were present in this meeting.

The meeting was informed that the dislocated urban poor families on both sides of river Jhelum from Dubji Ghat to Cement Bridge, Pandrethan, Athwajan and Tsunt Kul besides those families which were shifted temporarily from Parimpora to Sumerbugh are to be rehabilitated at Rakh-i-Gundi Akhsha.

SDA had already identified 106 kanals of land at Rakh-i-Gundi Akhsha.

Div Com directed verification committee headed by SE Hydraulic Srinagar to finalize the task of verification of the left out families within a week’s time. Besides, families who were temporarily shifted from Parimpora to Summerbugh may also be included in the survey list for verification of their genuineness.

Divisional Commissioner passed direction to Commissioner SMC to discuss the layout plan prepared by the SMC for rehabilitation of dislocated urban poor families with the concerned MLA and submit the report to the Div Com office within a week’s time.

Baseer Khan asked Chief Engineers R&B, PDD and UEED to furnish the requisite estimates as per layout plan provided by SDA for development of Cluster Township at Rakh-i-Gund Aksha to Chief Engineer I&FC within 10 days so that the same will be incorporated in the DPR.

Div Com said that common facility centre, parking area, proper road; water & electricity connections and other facilities should be incorporated in the plan so that these dislocated urban poor families do not face any kind of difficulty.
