Srinagar: Chairman Hurriyat (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Thursday cautioned New Delhi that a single adverse court order on 35-A is sufficient for Kashmiris to hit roads.
“After GST, this is a fresh assault on the political autonomy whatever little has been left by the pro-India parties. Just a single order against article 35 A, and all of us irrespective of age and religion will be on roads,” Mirwaiz warned.
Mirwaiz was speaking at a meeting of Awami Action Committee (AAC) executive members ,activists , traders bodies , civil society members students and many others was held at AAC headquarters at Mirwaiz Manzil Rajori Kadal here, AAC spokesperson said.
Regarding the attempt to abrogate Article 35-A Mirwaiz said it is directly aimed at changing the demographic character of the state that will have a direct bearing on our Right to self determination guaranteed by the Indian state at the UN and ratified by the world body.
Mirwaiz said since coming to power the current dispensation in New Delhi is constantly engaged in fulfilling its long term agenda of total integration of JK with the Indian Union through a demographic change and is using the judicial route for this purpose.
Mirwaiz said people of Kashmir will never allow it to happen and will fight out this grave assault as they have been bravely and peacefully fighting for their fundamental right since the past seventy years.
Authorities on Thursday released Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq from house detention, sources said.
Mirwaiz was put under house arrest on Wednesday, four days after his two month long house detention was ended.
Mirwaiz has called upon people to join ‘special prayers’ at Jamia Masjid Srinagar on Friday.
