Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee today said both PDP-BJP are at loggerheads on almost every sensitive issue but the lust for power is keeping them together. “Congress stands vindicated that this unholy alliance will prove detrimental to the overall interests in the state,’’ JKPCC Chief G A Mir said while addressing a series of meetings of prominent Congress leaders and workers at Kathua, Samba and Jammu districts as part of the mass contact programme. The PCC Chief said time has proved that the alliance of two unnatural parties BJP and PDP has proved to be not only an utter failure but against the overall interests of the people of the State. “It is the ruling parties who create controversies and disturb the political, social and religious harmony in the state, while as the Congress party as a responsible opposition and secular, unifying force trying to cement the relationship of different sections and regions of the state,’’ he added. Cautioning the people especially Congress workers about the designs of communal and divisive forces on various sensitive issues in the state, Mr Mir asked them to gear up themselves to counter the wrong policies and approach of the coalition parties. He said, the opportunist politics of these parties would prove to be dangerous for the unity and integrity and harmony of the state. Mr Mir said Congress would remain strong and steady on the role it always played for the state to maintain the integrity and secular fabric in the sensitive state.
