Srinagar: Road accident claimed the life of a youth in North Kashmir’s Sopore town of Baramulla district on Tuesday.
A police official said that father-son duo was travelling in a tipper when the accident took place near Yemberzalwari Harwan in Zainageer area. “Father Abdul Ahad was seriously injured while his son Hilal Ahmed (23) died on spot,” the official said and added that injured has been shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for advanced treatment.
Meanwhile, eighteen passengers were injured, three of them critically, after a bus they were travelling in turned turtle near Chontipora village of Mawer area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The bus was on its way to Handwara from Mawer.
Station House Officer (SHO) Qalamabad said: “The bus, bearing registration number JK13 3402 overturned Tuesday morning at Chontipora village in which almost 18 passengers received minor injuries, while as three passengers were critically injured.”
However, other passengers are said to be stable, he said.
