New Delhi: Hearing a criminal defamation case filed by Union Minister Arun Jaitley, Delhi High Court today issued a notice to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Justice Manmohan passed an order for issuance of notice against Kejriwal and asked him to file his reply within four weeks.
The single judge bench then adjourned the case for December 11 for further hearing.
Jaitley had filed a criminal defamation case against Kejriwal and several other Aam Aadmi Party leaders for claiming that he was allegedly involved in corrupt practices when he was the chairman of the Delhi & District Cricket Association.
He has sought Rs 10 crores as damages and has submitted to the court that he will revise the figure if Kejriwal was found to have directed Ram Jethmalani, his former counsel,to abuse him during the hearing.
