Shopian: A large number of people participated in the last rites of Cable Operator Hilal Ahmed Malik who was killed by unknown gunmen in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Reports said that hundreds of people offered his funeral prayers.
Shortly after his killing on Sunday night, police issued a handout that read: “Police on the basis of human and technical intelligence identified the militants who killed the cable network owner Hilal Ahmad Malik this evening. The militants involved in the attack on cable network owner are Zubair Ahmad Turray son of Bashir Ahmad Turray resident of Bonbazar, Shopian and Umar Nazir Malik alias Khattab son of Nazir Ahmad Malik resident of Malikgund, Shopian. Police have launched a massive manhunt to nab the perpetrators and will bring them to justice very soon.”
