Srinagar: In order to review the commissioning of Spice Park at Dussu Pampore and providing irrigation facility to the growers of Saffron areas, Principal Secretary Agriculture Production Department, Sundeep Kumar Nayak Monday made a surprise visit to Pampore.
During the visit, he inspected the Spice Park which is to be handed over to the Department by the end of August 2017. Expressing displeasure over slow pace of work, Principal Secretary asked the Central Public Works Department and Mechanical Irrigation Department to complete the work within the prescribed time.
It is pertinent to mention that National Saffron Mission Project worth Rs. 400 crores has been sanctioned by Government of India for revival of Saffron crop in J&K, which was started in the year 2010.
