Jammu: The Government has set a target to cover over 1.21 lakh beneficiaries in first phase of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in the state.
The beneficiaries would be provided assistance for construction of dwelling units under the flagship Housing for All Scheme being implemented in 25 cities and towns.
Divisional Commissioner Dr M K Bhandari Monday chaired a high level meeting to review the physical and financial achievements registered by the implementing agencies including Jammu Municipal Corporation, Housing Board and Urban local Bodies.
The Div Com took stock of district wise status report of ongoing works and directed the concerned authorities to personally monitor the verification process to ensure that no eligible beneficiary was left out.
He directed the concerned officials to speed up the pace of the working and instructed them to submit a comprehensive ground status report to his office regularly.
Estimated cost of construction for per dwelling unit was also discussed in the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner JMC M Raju , Managing Director J&K Housing Board Dr Manmohan Singh, ADDC Jammu Anuradha Gupta ,Director ULB Sushma Chauhan , Vice Chairman JDA R.K Sharma besides senior functionaries of various departments.
