Pulwama: District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Ghulam Mohammad Dar, Monday inaugurated the divisional Level Inter-District Under-17 and Under-19 boys softball and throw ball tournament here at Police Lines Pulwama ,which is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports.
Teams from all the districts of Kashmir province are participating in this Tournament.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, DDC Pulwama said organizing such events are very important to channelize the energies of the youth in positive direction.
He said such events will be organized on a regular basis to harness their sporting talent. DDC further said a healthy mind can only reside in a healthy body.
DDC further said time and again sports have acted as fillip and passport to a better life. Such tournaments will give opportunity to budding players for participating further at State and National level tournaments and called sports as an emerging career in the modern world.
He said there is no dearth of sports talent in the district and many players from the district have represented at national level. The DDC expressed hope that the youth of the area would work hard to bring laurels to the State.
On the occasion SSP Pulwama, ADC Pulwama, C.O. CRPF and concerned officers of Sports Department were also present.
