Anantnag: Unknown gunmen shot dead a political worker in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday.
The deceased whom Police identified as Ishaq Parray, son of Abdul Gani, of Ugjan village of Dialgam was allegedly affiliated with ruling People’s Democratic Party.
A police official said that gunmen barged into his house and resorted to indiscriminate firing. He was shifted to hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Meanwhile Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, who is on a three day tour of Ladakh region, has condemned the killing of Mr. Ishaq Parray of Dialgam, Anantnag Saturday by unidentified gunmen.
In a statement, the Chief Minister described the killing as dastardly and inhuman. She said she has always maintained that violence is not the way to further a political cause but certainly violence has torn apart the social fabric of the State over the past 30 years.
Mehbooba Mufti has expressed her condolences with the bereaved family.
