DC Rajouri finalizes rates for land acquisition

Rajouri: District Collector (Deputy Commissioner) Rajouri, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary Saturday chaired a meeting of Collectors of land acquisition for finalization of rates of acquisition and fast-tracking acquisition process to expedite development scenario in the district.

AC Revenue Abdul Qayoom Mir, SDMs Kartar Singh, Gopal Singh, Abdul Sattar and Afzal Mirza attended the meeting, while as Tehsildars of concerned tehsils were also present.

The meeting of collectors approved 33 cases of acquisition involved 739 Kanals of land including roads and buildings as well as irrigation and water supply projects in district. One each case of PHE, PDC, Education, I&FC were approved while 2 cases of PWD, 11 of BRO and 16 of PMGSY were also approved.

The District Collector also approved the provision of Computers, printers, professional manpower, POL, Stationery and other requirements of field staff for effective land acquisition. Fresh vehicles have been provided to SDM Kalakote, Koteranka and Thanamandi while additional facilities are being provided for upgradation of infrastructure and improving mobility, the meeting was informed.

Status of mutations, project wise status of acquisition and other issues were also discussed. Collectors were directed to improve infrastructure out of 2% administrative charges permissible under land acquisition. Construction of rapid sand filtration plant of 1 lakh gallons per day at Aiti was also approved which will augment water supply in town by one year.

Collector PMGSY was directed for ensuring fast-track construction of Thanamang-Kassian-Darhal-Prori road. The proposed road will benefit a population of more than 2 lakh souls.

Collectors were also asked to ensure mutation of all pending cases of acquired land of different departments and ensuring revenue entry of land under occupation of different Departments.
