Srinagar/Aug,18: Train service on Srinagar-Baramulla track continued to remain suspended on second consecutive day on Friday.
The service was suspended yesterday following the killing of Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Ayub Lelhari in a firefight with forces in Banderpora village of Pulwama district on Wednesday evening.
However, trains were chugging in north Kashmir as usual.
An official said the decision to suspend all train runs on Srinagar-Banihal track was taken for the security of passengers and railway property.
The killing of Lelhari had triggered massive protests in Kakapora area of the Pulwama district yesterday.
