Srinagar/Aug,18:Several persons were reportedly injured during clashes between protesters and government forces in Nowhatta area of Downtown Srinagar on Friday.
Reports said that youth took to streets and clashed with forces after weekly congregational prayers at Jamia Masjid Srinagar.
Forces resorted to teargas shelling to disperse the stone-throwing protesters, triggering further clashes.
Several protesters were reportedly injured in the clashes.
Earlier, Kashmir’s chief cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressed the congregation after his release from 57-day house detention.
