In a first Modi says ‘Na Goli Sey, Na Gali Sey, Kashmiri Samasiya Hal Hogi Galay laganay Sei”

New Delhi: Unlike in his previous Independence day message the Prime Minister Narendra Modi did name both Kashmir and the separatists in his address to the nation from ramparts of the historical red forte

Referring to situation in Kashmir Prime Minister Modi said “Na goli sey, na gaali sey , samasya hal hogi Kashmir ko galay laganay sei (Neither bullets nor brickbats bur embracing Kashmir will solve the issue)” However the Prime Minister said “there is no question of being soft on terrorism”, any violence in the name of faith cannot be condoned”.
Extending an offer of talks to all stake holders he said doors for dialogue are open. Addressing the Kashmiri youth Modi said “I want to tell the youth of Kashmir and I’ve said this time and time again, come into the mainstream, you have a right to speak in a democracy,” the PM said.
In what was his fourth Independence Day address from the ramparts of the Red Fort, the PM, in a resplendent orange and red turban, spoke for almost an hour, touching on not just Kashmir and sectarian violence, but also on militancy, development, technology, corruption and the responsibility of citizens towards a vibrant democracy.
