Srinagar: Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik and zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri were arrested by police near Chadoora when they were on their way to meet the bereaved family of martyr Yasin Itoo alias Gaznavi, said a party spokesperson.
JKLF chairman who wanted to participate in funeral prayers of martyr Gaznavi and intended to meet his bereaved family was stopped by SOG near Chadoora and arrested. He along with other JKLF leader Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri were lodged at police station Chadoora.
The spokesperson said that earlier, Muhammad Yasin Malik along with others visited SKIMS Soura where he met ailing leader Syed Ali Geelani and enquired about his health.
Earlier while ridiculing the recent statements of Indian ministers including Indian finance minister Arun Jaitly , JKLF chairman said that Indian rulers desiring to crush Kashmiri resistance should know that Hitler, Mussolini, British imperialism , Russian Czars and other oppressive regimes also used to boast about crushing their opponents but today are history and nations they intended to defeat stand triumphant.
While paying rich tributes to Kashmiris who embraced martyrdom at Shupian, Pulwama and other places during last two days, JKLF chairman said that the arrogant proclamations during a conclave by many Indian ministers including Indian home minster Raj Nath Singh and Union Minister Arun Jaitly on Jammu Kashmir and ongoing freedom struggle are outrageous and silly.
He said that as long as a single Kashmiri is alive, no power on earth can defeat our passion and desire for freedom. He said that history bears a witness that every illegal occupant, tyrant and oppressor desired to crush those who stood firm against their hegemony. From Hitler to Mussolini, from British imperialism to Russian Czars and from Genghis Khan to Stalin, every oppressor and tyrant swaggered about crushing his opponents and finishing their resistance but today these tyrants have become history and the nations occupied and oppressed by them stand triumphant and victorious.
He said that Indian leaders and ministers, intoxicated with power and arrogance, are toady boastful about defeating Kashmiris resistance and freedom struggle. These people should study history and understand that their oppressive attitude and behavior cannot put Kashmiri nation into submission, said JKLF chairman. Kashmiris have endured bullets, pellets, incarcerations, hooliganism, torture, beatings and vandalizing by Indian army and forces but this Hitlerism has failed to break their passion for freedom and is bound to fail in future too.
Terming the struggle and sacrifices rendered by great martyr Yasin Itoo alias Mehmood Gaznavi and his associates martyr Engineer Irfan Ahmad Sheikh and martyr Umar Majeed as historical, JKLF chairman said that young educated youth of our nation are tortured, humiliated and pushed to the wall and left with no option but to tread the path of armed resistance and go for the ultimate sacrifice.
He said that Kashmiri youth in peaceful struggle prior to 1988 were also tortured, humiliated along with their families and pushed to the wall that resulted in a historical people’s revolution in 1990. Kashmiris at the behest of international community transformed their struggle from a violent to a non-violent attitude in 2008 and from 2008 till now same tyranny, oppression and suppression continues, pushing our young generation to the wall, asserted JKLF chairman.
“Gaznavi was a peaceful activist but police and forces tortured, him, arrested, incarcerated him and humiliated his family like many others, and he had no choice but to tread the path of ultimate sacrifice.”
He was a true son of soil who till his last breath stood for unity and sacrificed his life for the righteous cause.
JKLF chairman said that the nation of Kashmir is indebted to great martyrs like these and no Kashmiri can ever disremember these sacrifices.
While paying rich tributes to two innocent young boys martyr Muhammad Sayeed Bhat of Shrimal and martyr Owais Ahmad Dar of Kakpora Pulwama who fell to Indian bullets yesterday, JKLF chairman expressed solidarity with their bereaved families. He said that so-called biggest democracy is not even allowing mourning and funeral prayers and has turned Kashmir into a big prison. Meanwhile a
JKLF delegation comprising of Peer Abdul Rashid and Nazir Ahmad Rather,Riyaz Ahmad and Shabir Ahmad managed to reach Nagam Chadoora and participated in the funeral prayers of Shaheed Yasin Itoo Gaznavi.
