Jammu: A woman was killed on Saturday after a mortar shell fired from across the border exploded outside her house in Poonch district of Jammu province , police said.
The deceased, identified as Ruqia Bi (40), resident of Dharana, was standing in front of her house when she was hit by splinters.
Officials said that troops of India and Pakistan traded heavy fire and shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) from 5:15 am Saturday.
