Srinagar: Announcing that he was ready to join separatists, Awami Itehad Party (AIP) chief Er Sheikh Abdul Rashid, MLA, however, sought a meeting with chairmen of both the factions of the Hurriyat Conference (HC) and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF).
Addressing a press conference here Thursday he said he was ready to join the separatists on the appeal of hardline HC Syed Ali Shah Geelani since it (offer) was for the larger Kashmir cause of right to self determination.
Appealing to former chief Minister and working president of main opposition party National Conference (NC) appealed Omar Abdullah not to carry out personal attacks on Mr Geelani and others, Er Rashid said this was not time to blame each.
He said we all should work together for resolution of Kashmir dispute and stop New Delhi from its utterances and efforts, it is indulging in changing the dispute nature of J&K.
The J&K law maker said Mr Geelani’s appeal to mainstream parties carries significance and relevance and sincere voices need to respond.
He said since he is already working for fulfilling the aspirations and sentiments of people there he was on the same page with separatists.
MLA Langate in the frontier district of Kupwara said mainstream parties should take the offer of Mr Geelani seriously.
However, he said before joining the separatists he is seeking appointment with Mr Geelani, Mirwaiz and Malik besides other leaders to discuss the offer and to know the modalities of future strategy.
