Srinagar: The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Thursday visited Bakshi Stadium to review the preparedness for smooth conduct of Independence Day Celebrations.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Joint Commissioner SMC, Joint Director Information, SP Security, Executive Engineer R&B, Sports Officer JK Sports Council, Medical Officer and other concerned officers accompanied the DC Srinagar.
The main State Level function will be held at Bakshi Stadium which will start with Shehnai wadhan followed by unfurling of tricolor by the Chief Guest, who will inspect the march past and take the salute at the parade. The Contingents from various wings of J&K Police, Women police, IRP, CRPF, Fire & Emergency, Home guard, NCC, besides students from various educational institutions of the district will take part in the march past. Cultural programs from Information Department and Cultural Academy besides variety of songs will be presented by various schools. Dare Devil and Marshal Art events will also be performed at the venue.
The DC directed the SMC officials to maintain sanitation in and around Bakshi Stadium. He directed the officials to ensure better security arrangements, parking facilities, drinking water besides tankers, and proper seating arrangements at the Bakshi Stadium. The Health department was directed to deploy paramedical staff along with ambulance at the venue.
The DC further called for close coordination among the concerned Departments for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the Independence Day celebration at Bakshi Stadium.
