Srinagar: Hizbul Mujhadeen Chief Syed Slahuddin has condoled the demise of renowned Kashmiri literary figure, poet and an erudite historian Prof Ghulam Muhammad Shad. He said Shad was an invaluable asset for the Kashmir nation.
In a statement to local news gathering agency CNS, Syed Salahuddin said that Professor Shad was not only a prolific writer, poet, historian, columnist, and scholarly figure but also aficionado of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as well.
“He spread the light of education everywhere. His disciples will hopefully take forward his mission. Prof Shad was a true son of soil and attempts were made to target his family for his love for Kashmir Freedom Movement,” he said.
“His separation is painful but we all have to leave this temporary planet one day,” he said.
Syed Salahuddin while paying rich tributes to Prof Shad expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.
