Srinagar: The field executives of Legal Metrology Department during a routine inspection of drug stores of city found that the retailers are offering for sale the product Pelvic Traction set which do not carry the adequate labeling.
The Legal Metrology Officer seized some packages of the product as evidence. The notice was served to the surgical company namely Aadhaar Medicare Pvt Ltd, Haryana who in turn confessed the lapse and pleaded for compounding the offence departmentally.
Deputy Controller (Enf) Kashmir imposed a fine of Rs. 10,000 on the company with an undertaking that they shall be cautious in future. All the surgical and medical devices should carry the mandatory declarations on the label of the principal display so that the consumers may not be fleeced by the retailer.
