Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan Tuesday convened a meeting to review the progress of Amargarh-Samba electricity transmission line.
Chief Engineers, Systems & Operations Kashmir, Project Head Northern Region Strengthening Scheme-XXLX Limited, Deputy Director Planning, Assistant Commissioner and other concerned officers were present in the meeting. Deputy Commissioners Pulwama, Baramulla, Budgam and Shopian participated in the meeting through Video Conferencing.
The meeting was informed that 10 transmission line towers will be erected in Shopian, 8 in Pulwama, 84 in Budgam and 53 in Baramulla district as part of this prestigious project.
Div Com directed the concerned Deputy Commissioners that land acquisition cases should be expedited and other related issues resolved at the earliest. He said the timely completion of this prestigious project is essential for improving the power sector of the State as it would increase the transmission capability to a large extent.
Khan also directed DCs and concerned Chief Horticulture Officers to assess the amount for fruit trees which are lying along the corridor of the transmission line so that early disbursal of compensation will be paid to the growers.
Div Com directed officers to undertake necessary measures for ensuring completion of Amargarh-Samba electric transmission line, maintaining that it would go a long way in upgrading and augmenting the transmission network in the State, besides ensuring that power to the tune of 1000 MWs can be imported to the State from the Northern Grid.
