Srinagar: Chief Secretary, B B Vyas Monday reviewed the progress of the 330-MW Kishanganga Power project, being constructed in Gurez area of Bandipora district.
Commissioner/Secretary Forest, Ecology and Environment Department, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Commissioner/Secretary, Revenue Department, Secretary, Law Justice & Parliamentary Affairs Department, Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Secretary (Technical), PDD, Director, Disaster Management, representatives of PGCIL, NHPC and other senior officers participated in the meeting. Deputy Commissioner’s of Baramulla, Leh, Kargil, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Budgam and Pulwama participated in the meeting via video conferencing.
Chief Secretary reviewed the progress of 220 KV Kishanganga-Amargarh-Wagoora Transmission line, 220 KV Alusteng-Drass Transmission Line with directions to the concerned Deputy Commissioner’s to complete the process of land acquisition and disbursement of compensation. Time lines were fixed for the respective Deputy Commissioner’s in regard to completion of land acquisition proceedings and disbursement of compensation.
The implementation of Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) Plan of the Project Affected families was reviewed. Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora apprised about the current status of implementation of the plan.
The progress of work being undertaken on Madhumati and Bonar Nallah was also reviewed. The concerned officers were directed to complete the protection works as per the fixed timelines besides taking up beautification/aesthetic works along the nallah boundaries/adjacent areas, so as to derive maximum benefits through implementation of this project.
