Andrabi concludes 2-day extensive tour of Gurez

Gurez: Minister of State for Hajj and Auqaf, PHE, Irrigation, Flood Control, Power, Industries and Commerce, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi Monday concluded 2-day extensive tour of Gurez Tehsil and took stock of the people’s problems in the area.

During his visit, the Minister met with various deputations and enquired from them about the various developmental issues. The delegations apprised the Minister that the Gurez Tehsil had a huge potential of tourist which needed to be given focused attention. The Minister gave patient hearing to the deputations and said the present Government headed by the Chief Minister  Mehbooba Mufti is committed to improve the living standard of the people of the State especially living in far-off and hilly areas.

He said the Government is committed to promote and upgrade the tourist activities in the State and in this regard various Development Authorities have been established. He said Gurez has a natural scenic beauty which need to be developed in such a way so that more and more tourists are attracted towards the Gurez Valley.

Interacting with the people at different places, the Minister said the Government is committed to provide equitable development of all the three regions of the State.

Earlier, the Minister convened a meeting with the Officers of District Administration Bandipora and reviewed the overall functioning of all the departments in Gurez Tehsil held at Dawar.

Addressing the meeting, the Minister asked the district administration to work with utmost dedication and speed up the pace of work on all ongoing developmental works in the Tehsil and complete them in a stipulated time frame.

The Minister also asked the concerned to conduct survey of all areas of the Tehsil and identify the habitations who have not been provided adequate drinking water, power supply and other basic amenities and prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and submit the same to the concerned quarter for arrangement of funds.
