Akhtar reviews pace of developmental work at Ramban

Ramban: Minister for Public Work Naeem Akhtar Monday conducted an extensive tour of district Ramban and reviewed the developmental works and assess the needs of the people living in main town as well as far flung areas of the district.

MLA Banihal Vikar Rasool Wani, Deputy Commissioner Ramban Tariq Hussain Ganai, Chief Engineer R&B Jammu Sudhir Shah, Chief Engineer PMGSY S.P Manhas, Chief Engineer Mechanical Jammu, SE R&B Doda, SE PMGSY Batote, XENs of  PWD Ramban, Mechanical Jammu, PMGSY Banihal, representatives of construction companies and officers of various department.

The Minister visited Banihal, Khari, Ukhral  and various other areas  of district Ramban. Enroute he also inspected various developmental works.

The Minister inaugurated newly constructed motorable bridge of 55 meters span over Mahu Mangat Nallah at Mandakbass under NABARD RIBF-XV and also laid foundation stone of Kharri Kote to Srachi road. The project will be completed with an expenditure of 1200 lakh within two years.

The Minister took a review of progress being made by companies engaged for construction of four lanning project.  He gave on the spot direction for redressal of various problems and directed the officials to expedite various projects without compromising on quality. He further directed them to replace old crash barrier on construction sites.

He also reviewed various road and other projects being constructing by PWD, PMGSY and other department and fixed the deadline for the completion of various ongoing projects. He also directed the officers of PWD and PMGSY to ensure the completion of blacktopping of identified roads well before winter session.

He directed the officers of the department to take-up the issue of forest clearance with concerned department so that said projects can be completed without delay. He assured the officials and people that all confronting issues will be taken up with concerned quarters at high level for its early redress.

Responding the issue of Banihal to Mangat roads, the Minister directed the Xen PMGSY to complete the road by the end of current year.

The Minister listened to the grievances of the people regarding road widening, macadamization, power situation, water supply and other issues. The Minister gave on the spot direction for macadamisation of roads and redressal of other issues.
