Srinagar: Chief Secretary, B B Vyas Saturday reviewed the progress of AIIMS project with the concerned Administrative Secretaries here.
Principal Secretary, Home, Principal Secretary, Health & Medical Education, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Commissioner/Secretary, PW(R&B), Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Commissioner/Secretary, Revenue, Secretary (Technical) PDD, Deputy Commissioner, Samba and other senior officers participated in the meeting.
The prestigious project involves setting up of two AIIMS like institutes in J&K for which two sites one at Vijaypur in Samba district in Jammu region and the other at Awantipora, Pulwama, in Kashmir region have been selected.
Chief Secretary observed that since acquisition proceedings for the said projects have largely been completed, barring some cases, focus should now shift on providing road, power and water facility at the sites to facilitate handing over the site to the executing agency without any encumbrance for early commencement of the construction work on the institutes.
Timelines were fixed for completing the pending land acquisition proceedings at the two sites, removal of encroachments/structures and providing road, water and electricity facilities.
Progress of work will again be reviewed in the month of September, 2017 by the Chief Secretary.
