Srinagar: The Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Friday said Kashmir is all about love and compassion.
He made these remarks while inaugurating the 3-day Conference of Srinagar Chapter of Indian International Model United Nations (IIMUN) at Mallinson Girls School, where he was a Chief Guest.
Reiterating that the students of Kashmir have potential to excel in different spheres of life, the Minister said conferences like these go in a long way to hone the skills of the student.
It was given out that students of J&K are likely to visit other states of India in connection with IIMUN. Requesting the students to be the ambassadors of J&K, Bukhari asked them to take the message of peace, love and compassion to the outside world. “Tell the outside world that Kashmir is peaceful and Kashmiri people are compassionate,” he said adding that State Government would sponsor the educational tour.
The Minister said the Government is committed to provide quality education in every nook and corner. In this regard, he said the Government considers Private Educational Institutions as co-partners.
Bukhari said in addition to the academic activities, the Government has started exposure visits and inter district cultural exchange programs for the students which will help in broadening their vision.
On the occasion, speakers said IIMUN provides a platform to youth to share their ideas and opinions. The inauguration of the Conference showcased the cultural performances by the students.
Guest of Honor, Idrees-ul-Haq, Director School Education (Kashmir), Director, Tyndale Biscoe, Joint Director School Education (Kashmir), Director General, IIMUN (Srinagar Chapter), and other members of IIMUN and education department participated in the Conference.
