Army man killied,another injured in continuing encounter at Shopian

Srinagar :-A joint team of Army’s 62 RR, SOG and CRPF in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday at around 2:30 am launched a cordon-and-search operation at Matribugh, Zoipora of Shopian district .Forces cordoned the area and cobducted searches after receiving inputs about the presence of some militants in the area.

As the joint team of forces intensified the combing operation, the militants hiding in the area opened fire triggering off an encounter.

Sources said three Armymen including a Major was injured during firefight. One army man among injured succumbed to his injury. Operation continues.
