Srinagar: Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, called on Governor N.N. Vohra, Chancellor of the University, at the Raj Bhavan here Wednesday.
Prof. Jain briefed the Governor about the current status of important matters relating to academic, administrative and infrastructural development arenas and the initiatives presently underway.
Governor discussed with Prof. Jain the importance of systematic efforts being continued to attract the best persons to fill Faculty positions and, side by side, ensuring that there was no gap whatsoever in the quality of teaching and maintaining sharp focus on implementation of relevant research projects.
Governor advised Prof. Jain to ensure admission of high performers in the various courses and, side by side, speed up work on the establishment of adequate hostel and sports infrastructure and provide opportunities for extra-curricular activities.
