Srinagar: A review meeting was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Director Agriculture Kashmir, Altaf Aijaz Andrabi regarding the Climate Resilient Aggregation (CRA) Project to be implemented in block Budgam.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Inputs Kashmir, Chief Agriculture Officer Budgam, Deputy Director Planning, District Agriculture Officer Budgam, SDAO Budgam and other concerned officers.
In the meeting Director Agriculture emphasized upon the concerned officers to gear up field functionaries at grass root level and work in unison for implementation of the scheme on ground so that farmers are benefitted and adverse effects of climate change are minimized. It was informed that Climate Resilient Aggregation Project has been approved for Budgam block and an amount of Rs 1.45 crore has been sanctioned.
The Director directed the concerned officers to go ahead with all the activities sanctioned under the project.
In a bid to tackle water scarcity as a result of climate change the project would provide water and other irrigation facilities to agriculture land in hilly perches of the said block. The project also envisages minimizing adverse effects of the climate.
