Srinagar/Aug,1: Mobile Internet services were suspended across Kashmir on Tuesday after the killings of two militants, including Lashkar commander Abu Dujana, in a gunfight and ensuing clashes in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Dujana and his aide Arif Lelhari were killed in a gunfight in Hakripora village Tuesday morning.A civilian was killed after government forces resorted to firing to disperse protesters marching towards the gunfight site in Hakripora village.
Protests and clashes erupted across Kashmir as soon as the news of the killings spread. An official said that mobile Internet on 2G, 3G and 4G phones was suspended to prevent the spreading of rumours on the social networking websites.
