Srinagar: Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Gani Kohli Tuesday said the present Government has undertaken several historic measures for ensuring equitable development in all regions of the State and for the elevation of socio-economic profile of the people.
The Minister said this while addressing a large public gathering at Lassana Village in district Poonch Tuesday.
The Minister said to improve the living standard of the people especially living in far-flung and remote areas, the Government has launched several flagship and Centrally Sponsored programs in the State. He said huge funds have been earmarked for the purpose.
Referring to the developmental works undertaken in Rajouri and Poonch districts, Kohli said the work on various micro and macro developmental projects are apace in the twin districts and on completion of these developmental projects it will not change only the socio-economic conditions of the people and developmental scenario of these districts but would also help in providing job opportunities to unemployed youth.
During his tour, several public deputations met the Minister and apprised him about various issues of public concern like construction of protection bunds, link roads, lanes, drains and upgradation of schools. The Minister gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands would be looked into for their for immediate redressal.
