Samba:The district administration Tuesday organized an interactive cum awareness program on GST for Drawing and Disbursing Officers of the district.
Held in collaboration with Commercial Taxes Department, the event was conducted under the chairpersonship of District Development Commissioner, Sheetal Nanda.
The program underlined guidelines for the DDOs as per the new tax regime besides highlighting provisions relating to registration, TDS, Intra State and Inter State taxes and key responsibilities of the DDO’s.
The resource persons from Commercial Taxes Department responded various queries raised by officers which were primarily related to Rate of tax deduction and Registration process.
It was informed that the registration of DDO’s involved in purchasing and deduction of taxes for works contract and other similar activities shall start soon and link shall be available on GST portal. The officials asked participants to contact Help Desk Number 7051889993 or web portal www.gst.gov.in in case of any further clarification about the new tax regime.
The DDC asked the officials to actively participate in these knowledge transfer sessions and informed that such sessions are being organized across the district.
Later, the officials had an interactive session with industrialists from Industrial estates and responded to several questions ranging from online submission of returns to Input Tax credit provision.
Among others ADDC Vivek Sharma, ADC Tilak Raj Sharma, Assistant Commissioners (Commercial Taxes) Rajneesh Gupta and Deepika Rana, Sales Tax Officers Chander Parkash , Bhupinder Singh Chib, RO Central excise Department H.S Brar and all DDO’s of the district were present on the occasion.
