Jammu: The district administration, Jammu organized awareness-cum-interactive session on Goods and Services Tax at Super bazaar Jammu under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Rajeev Ranjan.
The DDC while interacting with stakeholders said the aim of conducting this program was to know and clear the apprehensions, doubts and genuine problems of business fraternity with regard to the implementation of GST in the State.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta, exhorted upon the traders to go for GST registration for smooth conduct of their business. She said the district administration in coordination with State Commercial Taxes Department will organize more such awareness programs on GST Act to acquaint all stakeholders with its provisions.
The awareness camp was attended by a large number of traders from the city chowk and link road area. The resource persons threw light on various provisions incorporated in the GST Act. They also replied to the queries of businessmen and traders and explained to them the implications of getting or not getting the GST registration, the process to be followed for registration and the procedures for filing return etc.
