Andrabi, Zahoor inspect Pampore Joinery Mill, Silk Factory Rajbagh

Srinagar: Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf, Industries & Commerce, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi and Minister of State for Cooperatives, Forest, Environment, Mir Zahoor Ahmad Tuesday visited Joinery Mill Pampore and Silk Factory Rajbagh to take stock of working of these business units.

Legislator Noor Mohammad Sheikh and Vice Chairman JK Industries Board Gulzar Ahmad Dar accompanied the Ministers.

During the visit, the Ministers inspected various sections including cross cut & radial arm saw machine, jointer surface planner, heavy duty bandsaw machine, thickness planner, tenoning machine, heavy duty spindle molding machine at the Pampore Joinery Mill.

The Ministers also inspected show rooms at Pampore and Silk Factory Rajbagh and enquired about the furniture and other silk items manufactured by the JK Industries and displayed there for sale purposes.

Interacting with the workers at these Units, Andrabi said the Government is committed to upgrade and promote JK Industries in the State. He said there is a pool of multi talented workers in the State but need is to provide them proper trainings for enhancing their capacity. He asked the Managing Director to arrange refresher courses for all workers working in these Mills.

He said it was the dream of the former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayed to promote art and artisans of the State. He said the present Chief Minister  Mehbooba Mufti has also undertaken a comprehensive program for preservation and propagation of the heritage arts of the State.

Mir Zahoor, while interacting with the workers, said work is worship and asked them to work with utmost dedication and ensure quality and quantity items to the consumers. He also called for wide awareness of the items through print and electronic media so that maximum lot can benefit.

Managing Director JK Industries, Javaid Ahmad and other Senior Officers of J&K Industries were also present on the occasion.
