New Delhi: Pakistani ambassador in New Delhi Abdul Basit today revealed that Govt. of Pakistan is ready to fulfill all the pre-requisite conditions necessary to hold plebiscite in J&K.
At a fair well function organized in New Delhi in his honor, while replying to Er. Rasheed’s questions during the interaction Basit said that Pakistan is always ready to fulfill all the conditions required as per United Nations resolution.
Er. Rasheed during the interactive session said that New Delhi has been indulging in propaganda that Pakistani Govt. has never ever shown its willingness to fulfill the condition required to implement UN resolution.
He said “It is necessary that Pakistani Govt. is clean over the issue so that all the confusions are cleared once for all. New Delhi has been maintaining that Pakistan is just talking about UN resolution to corner New Delhi and is never sincere to implement the conditions.
However if Pakistan claims to be sincere in giving Kashmiris right to self determination it must break the Indian propaganda and openly show its willingness to fulfill all that what is required to implement the resolution”.
In response to Er. Rasheed’s question Abdul Basit made it clear that Pakistan has always supported Kashmiris and their just based cause of right to self determination and will not waste a second when New Delhi and the United Nation come forward for the final resolution. Earlier in the day while intervening during the second day of the ongoing conference on J&K, Er. Rasheed accused Indian media of forgetting the morality and ethics of journalism.
While speaking during the discussion on role of Indian media vis-a-vis J&K dispute, which was attended by renowned national journalists, Er. Rasheed said that supporting Major Gogoie, downplaying use of pallet guns, calling Kashmiris names and labeling even Huriyat leaders as terrorists has eroded the credibility of Indian media not only in the eyes of Kashmiris but also in the eyes of sensible Indians.
Later during the debate Er. Rasheed asked Omer Abdullah why couldn’t he and Mehbooba Mufti find a common ground to ask New Delhi not to run away from the real dispute, to which Omer Abdullah responded that though he had taken initiatives on more than one occasions to develop the consensus but Mehbooba always gave a very cold shoulder.
Er. Rasheed asked Omer Abdullah that NC and PDP can never ever be exonerated from what is happening in J&K and also reminded Omer Abdullah that the suspicious role being played by NC and PDP is giving New Delhi a walk over and an opportunity o run away from the real issue.
